Capture one

I love using the Radial filter in my Lightroom editing workflow. It has so many creative uses when it comes to fine tuning your photographs. You can use it to selectively light or darken a certain area of the photo, you can create vignette to draw the audience to particular are of the image by isolating it.

Once you understand the power of the Radial filter, you can use it many different ways to enhance and edit your photograph in Lightroom.

I have used this Radial filter in lighting up faces in a group shot for example if they have been poorly exposed or are in the shadows.

I put this video together to show the three ways I most commonly use it:

  1. Selective Lighting
  2. Creative Vignette
  3. Isolate a Subject

I focus on using the Exposure slider to create unique lighting effects on your photos. But you can consider using other sliders such as Shadow, Clarity, Sharpness to selectively adjust some areas of your images.

Check out the entire video to discover my technique and introduce them in your own workflow.
